Dr. Spencer Goldstein has been serving the pets and families of Biscayne Animal Hospital since October 2001. As Owner and Lead Veterinarian, he is dedicated to delivering advanced, thoughtful care with a strong emphasis on surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy, and complex medical cases. His steady leadership and clinical expertise have helped shape the hospital’s commitment to thorough, compassionate veterinary medicine.
Originally from Miami Beach and Colorado Springs, Dr. Goldstein’s path to veterinary medicine was inspired early on by a veterinarian from Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo and by his first dog—experiences that sparked a lifelong passion for helping animals. He earned his undergraduate degree in marketing and finance from the University of Tampa in 1992 before completing his biology and pre-veterinary studies at the University of South Florida. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999, where he was honored with the Christian Doppler Award for Excellence in Anesthesia.
Dr. Goldstein is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association. He believes that providing the highest level of care requires both technical precision and clear communication, ensuring that pet owners feel informed, supported, and confident in every decision regarding their pet’s health.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Goldstein enjoys traveling, boating, fishing, golf, and spending quality time with his family. He shares his home with Charlie, a Bernese Mountain Dog; Boston, a Maltese Shih Tzu; and Naya, a domestic cat—each of whom reminds him daily why he chose this profession.
