Veterinarian
Dr. Valeria Arana is a compassionate veterinarian with special interests in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, preventive care, and emergency medicine. She is dedicated to building strong relationships with pet owners and believes the best care comes from working together to support each pet’s health, comfort, and quality of life.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Arana grew up surrounded by animals, which inspired her path into veterinary medicine. She began her undergraduate education at the University of Puerto Rico and later transferred to Central Connecticut State University following Hurricane Maria, earning her bachelor’s degree in biology in 2018. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Arana takes a whole-pet approach to care, considering each patient’s medical needs alongside their lifestyle, environment, and the bond they share with their family. Community involvement has always been important to her, including marine biology research and outreach during her undergraduate studies, participation in spay/neuter events, and rescue and rehoming efforts in Puerto Rico.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Arana enjoys spending time with family, reading, and being in nature. She shares her home with her cat, Inej, a domestic shorthair who “went through vet school” with her and proudly holds an honorary DVM.
